How can you access, rectify, or cancel your personal data, or object to its use?
The protection of personal data is a human right that grants individuals the power to control the information they share with third parties, as well as the right to ensure it is used appropriately to enable the exercise of other rights and prevent harm to its owner.
The Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, in Article 16, second paragraph, recognizes the right to personal data protection as an individual guarantee, stating that "...Everyone has the right to the protection of their personal data, access, rectification, and cancellation thereof, as well as to express their opposition under the terms established by law, which will define the exceptions to the principles governing data processing for reasons of national security, public order, public safety and health, or to protect third-party rights..."
At any time, you may limit the use or disclosure of your personal data by exercising the ARCO rights (Access, Rectification, Cancellation, and Opposition) as provided by law by submitting your request to the following email address: [email protected]
ARCO Rights
All personal data holders have the right to Access, Rectify, Cancel their personal information held by third parties, and to Object to its use. These are known as ARCO rights.
- Access. This means you have the right to access and know your information being processed, as well as the scope and specifics of such processing.
- Rectification. You have the right to correct your personal data. This applies when your data is incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
- Cancellation. This allows you to request, at any time, the deletion or erasure of your personal data when you believe it is not being used or handled according to the principles, duties, and obligations provided by law.
- Opposition. This consists of requesting the cessation of processing your personal data when a specific and personal situation justifies it to prevent harm or for specific and concrete purposes, such as for advertising.
Therefore, we inform you of our Privacy Policy and how we safeguard the integrity, privacy, and protection of your personal data in compliance with the Federal Law on Transparency and Access to Public Government Information published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on May 20, 2021.
Why is it important to protect your personal data?
Your personal information is valuable and should be protected just like any other valuable and important asset to you.
In particular, personal data protection is necessary in today’s society, where the use of Information Technologies (IT) allows the communication, sharing, and usage of personal data in seconds, massively and constantly, almost without limits or complications.
Therefore, it is important to remember that personal data reveals who we are; what we like; what our capabilities, skills, or weaknesses are; who we associate with; our preferences; and also reveals financial information about our assets—in other words, it tells everything about us.
Revocation of your consent to use your personal data.
You may revoke or withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data for all purposes you have previously agreed to (total revocation) or only for some (partial revocation), according to your interests. Please note that total revocation implies terminating the relationship with the party responsible for handling your personal information, as they will no longer be able to use your personal data for any purpose.
When submitting your consent revocation request, as established by law and informed through our Privacy Notice, you must indicate whether the revocation applies to all purposes for which your data is used, or only to some.
It is also important to note that you may ask the responsible party to confirm the cessation of use of your personal data if your revocation request has been accepted.
Keep in mind that revoking your consent will not apply in cases where the processing of your personal information is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
Modifications to the Privacy Notice.
We reserve the right to make changes or updates to this Privacy Notice at any time, to address legislative changes, internal policies, or new requirements for the provision or offering of our services or products.
Who can you contact to file complaints or report misuse of your personal data?
If you believe that your right to personal data protection has been violated by any conduct of SPOREXPERT® staff, our actions, or responses, and you presume that there has been a violation of the provisions set forth in the Federal Law on Transparency and Access to Public Government Information, you may file the corresponding complaint with the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information, and Personal Data Protection (INAI).
