How do I prepare it?

Distribute brown rice into jars, add nutrient solution, sterilize at 15 PSI for 90 minutes.

  1. Weigh 45 g brown rice per jar (6 jars).
  2. Prepare nutrient solution: dissolve 15 g light malt extract and 10 g nutritional yeast in 500 ml water.
  3. Add 80 ml solution to each jar over the rice.
  4. Cover with foil and sterilize at 15 PSI (121 °C) for 90 minutes.
  5. Cool 8–12 hours before opening.
  6. Inoculate with Cordyceps militaris liquid culture under sterile conditions (5–10 ml per jar).
  7. Incubate in darkness at 20–22 °C for 14–21 days until fully colonized.
  8. Initiate fruiting: expose to 12–16 hours light (6500K), reduce temperature to 15–20 °C, maintain 85–95% humidity.
  9. Harvest when orange fruiting bodies reach 5–8 cm (45–60 days fruiting).
